MUMBAI: For all the Bollywood buffs, here are some interesting updates.  Take a look-

Kriti Sanon questions veracity of anonymous #MeToo stories

Actress Kriti Sanon on Sunday urged people to handle the #MeToo movement responsibly and to not dilute the movement with their anonymity.

She believes men and women must reveal their identity before imposing serious allegations against someone.

The Barielly Ki Barfi star took to Twitter to share her thoughts.

Kriti wrote, "What happens when a #MeToo story of an 'anonymous' girl comes out against someone? Do we simply believe it without even knowing who the girl is or if she even exists? How does one inspect such an incident in order to come to any conclusion? Is it fair to consider the accused 'guilty' when the MeToo story does not come with the victim's name? Should the media carry such stories?"

According to Kriti, any story without proper identification can "spoil someone's name and career".

So, she asked everyone to "handle the #MeToo movement responsibly and find out a lawful way" for it.

"All women/men who want to share their #MeToo stories to either come out in open with their names and faces or file a FIR or a legal case (while asking for your identity to not be given to media or public) so that case can be at least inspected and the #MeToo movement does not get misused or diluted," the 28-year-old added.

Kriti thanked girls for showing courage to speak out their harassment stories in public and said that #MeToo movement will now bring fear in people before they do anything wrong.

"Thanks to you girls and the movement that now people will fear being caught if they wrong anyone. This fear was much needed and is hopefully here to stay."

The actress is also a part of film Housefull 4, which was earlier being directed by Sajid Khan before multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct. He has been replaced in the project now.

Hip hop community witnessing more artiste breakouts: Raftaar

Rapper Raftaar says the hip hop community is growing in India with an increasing number of artiste breakouts.

"The hip hop community is witnessing more and more artiste breakouts, inspired by the hip hop movement in the West and the impulse to express through their raw and distinctive styles," Raftaar said in a statement.

"Breezer Vivid Shuffle as a platform is fitting to this thought and it is great to see the talent that these young performers bring on stage," added the rapper, who is the face of hip hop festival Breezer Vivid Shuffle Season 2.

Raftaar along with actor Varun Dhawan on Sunday announced the winners of the talent hunt in India.

The winners are Tornado (Breaking), Popcorn (Popping), Same Age Crew (Rep Your Style) and Polestar (Crew). They took a cash prize of Rs 1 million, which will be divided amongst them.

They will also get to feature in a music video with Varun and Raftaar.

"I'd like to congratulate the winners and everyone that participated. I'm thrilled about the upcoming music video," Raftaar said.

To this, Varun added, "I've been in this journey for two years now, and it has been exciting to watch Breezer Vivid Shuffle grow as the ultimate hip hop platform in India... It's been a crazy fun journey for me."

The second year of Breezer Vivid Shuffle witnessed a participation of 112 finalists, battling it out in four categories through five regional rounds and one grand finale.

"The platform has played a crucial role in discovering India's bursting talent and making the hip hop movement reach new heights, empowering the community further... We are more than thrilled to see what will the next season have in store for us," said Anshuman Goenka, Marketing Head, Bacardi India.

RGV finds Naidu-lookalike for film on NTR

Well-known director Ram Gopal Varma says he has found a person who resembles Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The filmmaker, who had on Saturday announced Rs 1 lakh reward for tracing the man, said a Rohit Mutyala has found the lookalike.

In his Facebook post, Varma thanked Rohit and asked him to send his bank account details to credit the reward amount.

The video of a man, who has an uncanny resemblance to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief, had gone viral on social media on Saturday.

The 11-second video of the Naidu-look-alike shows him serving food in what appears to be a canteen. The man is clad in vest and half pant.

Varma did not reveal details like who the man is and where he was traced.

Varma plans to feature the Naidu-lookalike in his proposed film on legendary actor-politician N.T. Rama Rao. The film is said to focus on NTR's second wife Lakshmi Parvathi.

Chandrababu Naidu had led a revolt to unseat his father-in-law and TDP NTR as the Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh in 1995, citing the growing interference of Lakshmi Parvathi in party and government affairs.

Alia Bhatt face of Nokia phones in India

Finnish company HMD Global that manufactures and markets Nokia smartphones on Monday roped in Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt as the face of Nokia devices in India.

"We are really excited to have Alia Bhatt as the face of Nokia phones. I am confident that in the coming together of Nokia phones and Alia Bhatt, we will further enhance the excitement around our new launches for our fans," Ajey Mehta, Vice President and Country Head-India, HMD Global, said in a statement.

The new festive campaign with Bhatt takes an affectionate and light-hearted look at the unique role played by a young person (and her Nokia smartphone) in making Diwali celebrations with her loved ones truly special, the company added.

The Nokia phones print campaign with the actress went live on 12 October to mark the festive season.

"The young generation is relied upon by their loved ones for so many things that they do with just a few clicks on their phones -- from paying a bill to capturing memories. This insight is at the core of our campaign and helps make Nokia phones relevant for these young consumers," Mehta added.

‘Namaste England', 'Badhai Ho' to release on 18 October

In what could be considered a Dussehra 'dhamaka', the two big Hindi releases this week, Vipul Shah's Namaste England and Amit Sharma's Badhai Ho have been given a last-minute early release.

Instead of the two films opening on 19 October as per schedule, the two producers have taken a joint decision to release their respective films a day ahead, on 18 October.

Namaste England director Vipul Shah explained, "It was a very natural move. This year, Dussehra is being celebrated on both 18 October and 19 October, so we decided to let the audience enjoy the film on both days."

The decision was mutual, with both the producers equally gung-ho about the change.

Badhai Ho is a naughty comedy about the embarrassment faced by a family when the matriarch becomes pregnant at an age when she is eligible for grandmotherly joys. Ayushmann Khurrana, now identified with quirky comedies and fresh on the heels of the success of his last release Andhadhun, plays the lead.

Namaste England is the breezy follow-up to the 2007 hit Namastey London, with Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra taking the place of Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif.

I am a big introvert, says Disha Patani

Actress Disha Patani, who has featured in films like M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story and Baaghi 2, says she is a shy and reserved kind of person in real life.

"I am a big introvert person. Be it walking down the ramp or standing in a huge crowd, I get nervous when I am around a lot of people. Especially during fashion shows, I do feel nervous but I don't think so much. I just try to focus on my work and give my 100 per cent to everything," Disha told a publication over phone from Mumbai.

The 26-year-old star on Sunday attended Bombay Times Fashion Week 2018, where she was a showstopper for KALKI's wedding collection 'Athena'.

Disha walked the ramp in a melon pink lehenga with layered embroidery in vintage English colours embellished with gold metal threads and resham for the brand, which she likes for its Indo-Western collection.

The actress is currently preparing for her next film Bharat, in which she will share screen space with superstar Salman Khan.

"Salman sir is a great co-star. He helped me a lot in shooting. He is hardworking. I learned so much from him. He shoots with a lot of dedication and always puts his best in each shot. He is one of the most helpful persons I have met," Disha added.

She is grateful to her friends, fan and followers for accepting her in the film industry with open hearts.

"I am fortunate that people have liked my work and appreciated me. Their love has inspired me to keep working hard. I hope I keep continuing good work always."

Sonakshi thanks Hrithik for motivating her

Actress Sonakshi Sinha has praised actor Hrithik Roshan and thanked him for always motivating her to be fit.

Lauding Sonakshi's transformation, Hrithik tweeted: "Stunning! I remember a 'before' conversation years ago and now this! Well done Sonakshi Sinha, you are going to inspire many. Keep going."

To this, Sonakshi replied, "That ‘before' conversation was an inspiration in itself! Thank you for always being so motivating Hrithik! This is just the beginning."

On the acting front, Hrithik will next be seen in Super 30, a biographical drama based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar and his educational programme in Patna.

It stars Hrithik as Kumar and debutant Mrunal Thakur in lead roles.

Aftab Shidvasani clocks 19 years in Bollywood

Actor Aftab Shivdasani on Monday looked back at how life changed for him 19 years ago when he stepped into the world of Bollywood.

Aftab debuted in 1999 with Ram Gopal Verma's hit romantic movie Mast, in which he featured with actress Urmila Matondkar.

"19 years ago today, a new life began for me. A life I always dreamt of. An opportunity to pursue a childhood dream of becoming an actor someday. Thank you Ram Gopal Verma for giving me this opportunity to realise my dream. Thank you to all those people who believed/believe in me," Aftab tweeted.

For Mast, Aftab had bagged multiple Best Male Debut awards.

The film is about a love story between an actress and a student. Its music, with songs like "Mast" and "Ruki ruki thi zindagi", topped the charts.

Before Mast, Aftab had appeared as a child artiste in films like Mr. India, ChaalBaaz, and Insaniyat.

With around 40 films to his credit, the actor has also featured in films like Kasoor, Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai, Awara Paagal Deewana, Hungama and Masti.

Currently, Aftab is preparing for Setters, which also stars actors Shreyas Talpade, Sonnalli Seygall, Pavan Malhotra and Vijay Raaz.

Aahana Kumra's warm relationship with Soni Razdan

Actress Aahana Kumra says she is glad that she got a chance to work with Soni Razdan, Mahesh Bhatt and Pankaj Tripathi in Yours Truly.

"I am very grateful that I got to work with Soni Razdan, Mahesh Bhatt and Pankaj Tripathi in a film," Aahana told a leading publication.

"Though I don't share the screen space with Mahesh Bhatt, but the fact that (I share) screen name with three of them is whimsical, because Pankaj Tripathi is an actor who I really look up to and Soni was so warm, so wonderful and welcoming to work. Our chemistry is very visible in the film," she added.

Aahana's Yours Truly had its world premiere at 23rd Busan International Film Festival on 9 October. The film, directed by Sanjoy Nag, was also screened on 10 October and 11 October at the fest.

"The film really does hit the right notes and it really came out like a life for us and watching it in Korea with a very welcoming audience. This is not an Indian audience so they react to the film very differently from what you expect from the Indian audience. It was a bit overwhelming for all of us," Aahana said.

Based on Annie Zaidi's book, "The one that was announced", an extract from "Love Story # 1 to 14", the Hindi romance-drama revolves around Mithi who discovers age is no barrier for love nor propriety and social norms; that you can fall in love with just a voice while imagining the person behind it.

Aahana says the story is about a "woman in loneliness".

"That's really the life of most people in Korea and rather in most Asian countries. They identified with the story very, very deeply," she added.

Talking about her role, Aahana said, "The only thing which I prepared for was that I had to sing a Bengali song and by the end of it, I and Soni were masters with the song and sing it anywhere and anytime."
