Producer-entrepreneur Sakett Saawhney’s Big Bang Cuurry seems to be really picking up and has become a favourite take away food joint for the celebrities. Recently, Mr. Dutt tried his food while he was shooting for a film in the suburbs and was all praises. Very few know that it was actor Sanjay Dutt who encouraged Sakett to start the venture in the first place. “I worked with him on a film called Zanjeer, which we produced a few years back. We are both foodies and I enjoy cooking for him. We have bonded over food more than work and he is one of the few people who really pushed and encouraged me to take my passion of cooking and turn it into a restaurant. I am so glad he loved the food,” says Sakett.
He adds, “I think most of my friends from television have tried our food and those who haven’t, is because of their shoot schedule or travels. They will surely do so in the coming days.”
Sakett is glad with the feedback that he has been getting. “We are happy that our food is being appreciated by people, some of whom happen to be celebrities. I am thankful to them for posting good things about us on social media. It really helps us spread the good word,” he says.
Ask him what are his most popular dishes, and he says, “Butter Chicken, Kheema Fry, Chicken Khurchan, Chicken Nimbooda, Dal Makhani, and our Galoutis are the best sellers.”
Talking about his plans for the future, Sakett adds, “Both I and my partner Ritesh Patel have great plans for the future. But we both believe in gradual and organic growth and are in no hurry for success. If we maintain the quality of food and keep serving our customers great food at affordable prices and on time, the sky is the limit. In fact, we already have got inquiries for franchises in Raipur and Kolhapur.”
