There’s a huge question mark over the future of<em>Ek Packet Umeed</em> with the NDTV Imagine show tipped to go off air this month end. However, before that could happen, there’s enough time for a new character to step in. Veteran actress Sarita Joshi, aka <em> Baa of Baa Bahoo Aur Baby</em> fame, will be seen in a cameo role in<em> Ek Packet Umeed</em>.

Jay Bhanushali aka Neev of <em> Kayamath</em>, has stepped out of Balaji. After participating in two event shows on NDTV Imagine, he will soon be seen in he is hooking up with Hats Off Production’s <em> Ek Packet Umeed</em>. “It’s again a cameo, two days shoot for Hats Off Production. I had a dream to work with them and today it has come true,” says Jay.

Maninee De is all set to enter NDTV Imagine’s <em> Ek Packet Umeed </em> as Shalini for three episodes. Maninee who is currently seen in<em> Dhak Dhak </em> in Dubai, <em> Naagin</em> and DD’s <em> Astitva Ek Pehchaan</em> has chosen to do this show because of its unique and sensitive story line.

It was party time for JD Majethia. On a professional high JD had more than one reason to celebrate. It was not only his birthday but also the launch of his new serial, <em> Ek Packet Umeed</em>. Hats Off production house’s co-producer JD celebrated this event with his family, friends and the media. The producer threw a lavish party which was attended by his friends Shefali Shah, Sakshi Tanwar, Swaroop Sampat and the cast of his serials. Also present at the occasion were Sarita Joshi, Satish Shah, Rakhi Sawant, Nandini Singh and JD’s business partners Aatish Kapadia and Deven Bhojani.

Lubna Salim who is currently doing Hats Off’ <em> Baa Bahoo Aur Baby</em> has accepted one more serial from the same production house. Lubna has joined Hats Off’s <em> Ek Packet Umeed</em> which will start airing from 5th February. Lubna is very excited about her role and claims that the role is very different from that of Leela Bhabhi in <em> Baa Bahoo Aur Baby</em>.

Rupali is back on television after a year. She’ll be seen in a Hats Off Production once again with its new show <em> Ek Packet Umeed</em> on NDTV Imagine. Her last venture before going on a break was <em> Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai</em> on Star One (a Hats Off Production). “It feels great to be back with the Hats Off team and the sets. I can’t reveal much about the show but the theme of the story revolves around relationships,” says Rupali.

After 9X now it’s the turn of NDTV to launch its new Hindi Entertainment channel. At a press conference today they announced their new venture NDTV Imagine. The channel will be spearheaded by Sameer Nair in partnership with ace producer and director Karan Johar. "Imagination is to dream. It's to entertain and delight. NDTV Imagine promises to create entertainment business for consumers. Today we take our first baby step and hope to go long way," said Sameer Nair, CEO of NDTV Imagine.
