Ishwar Mama received some papers to sign. Later, Naren's grandmother declared that nobody would eat until Hemraj arrived and the groom-bride did not take his blessings.
Hemraj asks as to Chanchal's opinion of Naren's selection for Nandini. Chanchal praises Nandini, describing her as perceptive and intelligent, adding that one wouldn't find another person like him.
Naren's mother, Chanchal, gifts Nandini jewellery and asks her about her preferences. Nandini responds that all the jewellery is pretty, but what she truly desires are their blessings and a Mangalsutra.
Nandini's emotional confession to her friend made it clear that she respected Naren's father for being a moral man who opposed dowries, which calmed her worries about making her uncle contribute to the wedding.
Nandini advises Naren that if their love needs to be sacrificed to fulfill his father's wishes, then let it be sacrificed, to which Naren questions what she means by that.
Nandini and Naren's relationship changed as Vishakha's wedding unfolded. Nandini wrote Naren's first "N" on her mehendi. Hemraj told Chanchal that Sujan's daughter would be an ideal match for Naren.
Naren told Nandini that his father, Seth Hemraj Ratan Singh, was a prominent figure in the Akhil Bharatiya Sindhu Sonawar community, and nobody dared to tempt his father with dowry.
