Shekhar featured in the 1984 movie Utsav with Rekha and Shashi, who produced the sensual drama. The actor related an incident while traveling towards Bengaluru, their car struck a man in the street and threw him into the air. The cast was physically assaulted by angry locals who surrounded the car.
