Zee Next reaches its nadir?

Zee Next, the Hindi GEC which was launched amidst much fanfare last year is reportedly going to shut down. Zee Entertainment Enterprise Ltd CEO Punit Goenka was busy in a meeting and asked us to contact Assistant VP Corp Comm. Riya Mitra. When contacted, Riya Mitra said, "No decision has been yet taken on this regard. There's a meeting today and I'll be only able to make to tell you something by tomorrow."

Sakshi to do a romantic show on Zee Next

A new show tentatively named as <em> Ranbir Aur Rano </em>will air on Zee Next from 27 July. The daily show, being produced by Shreya Productions and directed by Chander Behl, is likely to air on prime time. The show boasts of an impressive star cast with proven performers like Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Kunickaa Lal, Sakshi Talwar and Rajendra Gupta

Zee Next set for a revamp

Despite tall promises, a number of our new Hindi GECs have found the going tough. Unable to get the desired result, Zee Next has opted for a revamp. Zee Next was launched on Dec 17. Confirming this news Zee TV’s Marketing Head Tarun Mehra says, “Yes, it’s true that we will be revamping Next.” Tarun refused to comment on the programs facing the axe.

Vipul Gupta returns to TV with Pyar, Ishq…

Vipul Gupta (aka Aditya of <em> India Calling </em> fame) marks his return to TV with Zee Next’s <em> Pyar, Ishq aur Mohabbat</em>. The actor, whose last show Four didn’t quite blossom, doesn’t have any insecurity regarding his career. “I have become very choosy as I’m keeping an eye on Bollywood. Television actors have a history of breaking down whilst shooting for hectic hours. Fearing this, the producers of <em> Simplly Sapney</em> (Zee Next) have decided to take preventive measures. The actors are being served energy drinks and fruits at regular intervals. However, some of them are now tired of it.

Double dhamaka for Parakh Madan

Parakh Madan aka Suman of Star One’s <em> Saathi Re</em> was out of sight for two months. After her show went off air the dazzling actress has kept a low profile. We caught up with her to know what’s happening. There is good news for her fans as Parakh has signed a contract for two new shows. “I’m doing two new shows for two different channels. One is for Sony and another is for Zee Next. I’ll be playing a cop in both the shows,” says Parakh.

Shruti's Singapore jaunt

We called up the spunky actor Shruti Seth to find out about the long pending serial we learnt she had signed on for Edit II, slated for Zee Next. She did not wish to speak about it as the launch of the channel was held up but we tumbled upon her recent jaunt to Singapore, courtesy Singapore Tourism Board.
