I will participate in Bigg Boss if they pay me good money : Mona Wasu

Mona Wasu
Mona Wasu, who plays Richa in Parichay, is one busy girl. This Colors’ show keeps her occupied for nearly 20 to 25 five days a month. But that’s not all; the actress has another show in her kitty, Hum, which airs on Doordarshan and is based in Bihar. So she keeps shuttling between Mumbai and Bihar. Luckily, Mona could get some time out of her busy schedule and spoke to Tellychakkar.com. Excerpts: How does it feel to play a negative character for the first time in Parichay? The character of Richa is not an out-and-out negative one. She has turned negative now as she desperately wants Kunal back in her life. She is basically an obsessed lover. But yes, the role is quite challenging for me as I am a very positive and down to earth person in real life. But now I understand the role and its demands completely. Is it difficult to handle two shows simultaneously? Yes, it is extremely difficult. Whenever I finish shooting for Parichay, I straightaway head to Pakdi, Bihar to shoot for Hum. But more than the time and space factor, it is the character switch that makes things hard. My characters in these two shows are totally opposite to each other. So whenever I shoot for Hum, the first day is always a problem, because I still remain in Richa’s character. I have to leave away her mannerisms and ideology, and become the down to earth, Dr Jyoti. Though it is confusing at times, I think it is fun too. Moreover, I would never want to repeat my characters. You participated in a reality show two years back. Would you want to do one now? I don’t enjoy doing non-fiction much, but I am open to doing reality shows only if I like the concept. I participated in Sony’s Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao, because it was adventurous and gave me a chance to live in a rainforest. What about Bigg Boss? You want to go inside the house? The concept of Bigg Boss is amazing but I don’t know if I would like to put myself through the torture in such a reality show. There’s no excitement and adventure in Bigg Boss, instead it’s the fights that makes the show work. And I won’t like to scream my guts out on television. But if I am offered good money, I might participate in the show. So how about choosing a groom for yourself on a show, like your friend Ratan Rajput did in Swayamwar? Personally, I don’t agree with the concept of Swayamwar at all. I think I won’t find myself a good groom as many people participate in the show only to gain fame. Apart from that, it is very difficult to judge a person on such a platform, because people hide their true colors. I’d rather go for a love marriage, but that will be after some years. Currently I want to focus only on my career. Apart from TV, you have also done theater. Can we see you on stage anytime soon? Yes, I will be performing my comedy play Red Hot on the annual day of National School of Drama. The play is the Hindi adaptation of American play Last of the Red Hat Lovers by Neil Simon. Apart from this, we (the troupe) may also go on a US tour next year. We hear that you write as well. Do you fancy a career in writing? Yes, definitely. I have been writing poems and off late, I have started writing prose as well. In fact, I have some script ideas for television, but it’s just in my mind as of now. Finally, what are your future plans? Currently, I am focusing only on Parichay (smiles). Personally, I have great expectations from the role.
