Cricket and Bollywood is worshipped in India and soon TV will see a dose of cricket and drama like never before. Sony Entertainment Television is all set to launch Box Cricket League produced by Balaji Telefilms in association with Marinating Films.

Talented lad Shivin Narang will be seen playing for Jaipur Raj Joshiley and here the Veera actor talks about the league and a lot about his love for cricket.

What prompted you to be a part of Box Cricket League (BCL)? 

Actually last year I participated in the trial session of BCL and I really enjoyed with my friends. This is one reason why I wanted to be in the league. Also I am very passionate about cricket and I am sure BCL is going to be a great experience.

Did you ever play cricket in your childhood?

Of course I used to play cricket in my childhood with my friends.

Do you follow cricket matches?

I used to follow cricket matches when Sachin Tendulkar was a part of the Indian team as I am crazy for him. Now I don’t follow matches as I keep busy with my shooting schedule. 

Who is your favourite cricketer and why?

Sachin Tendulkar is my favourite because of his batting and also overall performance and Sohaib Aktar for his bowling.

What do you enjoy more- bowling or batting and why?

I enjoy bowling. I am also a fast bowler in the team.

Is playing cricket a stressbuster for you?

Yes playing cricket is definitely a stressbuster. After a hectic day when we practice it’s a superb workout for our body.  

Which all other games you like other than cricket?

I like volleyball, football and table tennis.

Which cricketer would you like to meet and play cricket with?

I would love to play cricket with Sachin Tendulkar. I would want to bowl to Sachin and see how he would strike on my bowl.

How do you manage to balance cricket practice and shooting?

My passion for cricket pulls me for cricket practice. And I make sure I attend my practice even after a hectic day.

Who are your team owner? And what do you feel about them ?

My team owners are Kamya Punjabi and Rajeev Thakkur. Our team owners never make us feel they are our boss. They are very supportive, understanding and very friendly. We just talk about cricket and our focus is completely on winning the league. 

What is your viewpoint on Ekta Kapoor launching BCL cricket matches as a TV reality show?

Ekta ma’am is very brilliant and she thinks out of the box always. TV is all about Balaji and whatever new has come on television is because of Ekta Kapoor. She has the magic trick to actually make new things work on TV.

Who is your favourite team member?

Rajeev Thakkur and Karan Patel are my favourite team members.

What was your reaction when you came to know BCL this year would be televised?

I was really happy as viewers will get to see something really different. There will be no dialogues but just plain real cricket with the actors.
