The very pretty and petite Shrenu Parikh, who joined the TV industry, playing a lead in Havan followed by Byaah Hamari Bahu Ka, is currently seen playing Aastha in Star Plus’ Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon…Ek Baar Phir.
The girl, who is always dressed up in traditional attires in her shows, feels most comfortable in casuals and believes in dressing the simple and stylish way. In a talk with Tellychakkar.com, Shrenu talks about fashion and more. Read on…
Fashion is:
For me, it’s all about comfort.
Who chooses your clothes?
I usually choose my clothes; but if not I have full faith on my parents, whatever they choose, I take it without any doubt.
Do you wear accessories?
Since I am not a very accessory-fond person, it’s always very light, usually just studs.
Do you follow any brands?
I am not a very brand conscious person as I have friends in Baroda who are designers and they get me the perfect costumes. As for some traditional kurtis, I go for Biba if I have to shop in Mumbai.
Favourite shopping destination?
I am really fond of street shopping and love bargaining on the streets. Colaba, for one, is a place I love shopping from.
Most expensive buy:
I guess my watches are the most expensive items on my shopping list. A Tissot watch and a gift I got in Gold are the most expensive things I have.
Clothes you are comfortable in:
Jeans and T-shirts, they are very comfortable. Also recently I have taken a fascination for tunics and leggings. Clothes are a part of you, so comfort should be the key.
Must have in your wallet:
Perfume, some mint and especially my earphones and charger.
Favourite perfume:
The ones from Kelkar lines and also Bennetton.
Describe sale in one word:
When and where is it? (laughs). But honestly I keep waiting for sale and have a gala time shopping when a sale is on.
Currently your wardrobe is overflowing with?
A lot of things, I seriously need to get some stuff cleared.
You have hardest time getting dressed for:
Navratris- I mean the time has gone, when we used to all deck up and go and dance the whole night. But it was super fun. Now I hardly have time to even visit the dandiya grounds.
Any fashion disaster you have come across recently?
This happens a lot many times every day! I just cannot hold my laugh when I see women dressed up in all neons and look so stupid.
If you had to choose a fashion era, which period will it be?
It would definitely be the 80’s; that was such a fun time. With time, fashion changes inevitably, but the retro look was surely a rocking style.
