From the time Shashi Sumeet Productions announced the sequel to Diya Aur Baati Hum, viewers have been really excited.

Titled Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji, the daily will launch on Star Plus in the afternoon slot.

As already reported by Tellychakkar.com, Avinesh Rekhi and Rhea Sharma will play the lead roles.

Now, coming to an interesting angle between the two, makers have roped in the dashing Aashish Mehrotra.

The actor will play the role of Mayank, a positive young guy who will meet Kanak (Rhea) as a prospective groom and the two will gear up to get married.

Shared a source, “Viewers will get to see some really cute moments between Kanak and Mayank as they will walk towards getting married. But a sudden twist will change their equation and life.”

When we buzzed Aashish he confirmed his entry and shared, “I am really excited to be a part of the show. Pushkal Mahabal, my director of Manmarziyaan is doing the show and when he called me I was more than happy. Though it will be a short role but getting to work with such a great team and being part of the brand is an honour for me.”
