Aashka Goradia dreams of 'equality', wants to see Indian men pole dancing in dance bars

Lifting of ban on dance bars in Maharashtra – A boon or a bane? Well, this is the subject of hot debate over the past few days, wherein everyone is commenting on the legality and societal implications of the Supreme Court verdict which has flung open the dance bars for the public. As of now, the general consensus is that while the men are glad that they have got a ‘new home’ which will help cure their grief and monotony, the fairer sex we believe, is a tad upset!! But here is a woman from our desi television industry who has her own take on this issue. And that is none other than the sexy and gorgeous Aashka Goradia who presently plays the evil Rani Bhatiyani in Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap on Sony Entertainment Television. So how is Aashka’s take different from others? Well, read it for yourself!!! Aashka starts off by saying, “I would prefer that Government makes a law by which it makes it compulsory for every dance bar to have a male dancing section as well. Why should only men have all the fun?” Hmm, cool idea, Aashka. So does it mean that Aashka will prefer to frequent such places? “I am not talking about myself, but from a general equality point of view. It is often said that men get frustrated at home, hence go to such dance bars for entertainment. In the same vein, don’t married women have their own issues with family? If so, why should they not get a chance to let their hair down as well?” questions Aaskha who had also taken part in the controversial show Bigg Boss on Colors. She goes on to add, “And here, it is the responsibility of the Government to ensure that these women who come to such places are not molested. They are coming here for entertainment just like cinema and play, and need protection from the law enforcement agencies. I would love to see Indian men doing pole dancing and women having a good time watching them. Why should we only have women doing Egyptian belly dancing?” On such places opening up the possibility of being hooker joints, Aashka believes, “This is a different matter. What the customer and the dancer do after the performance is over is purely between them. Again I wish to point out that I am looking for equality which unfortunately has never existed in our society.” “I am shown to be the third wife of Maharana Udai Singh in my above historical Sony Entertainment show. How much humiliation is it for a woman to share her man, just imagine. In real life, he had hundreds of wives. Have we ever heard of a queen who had many husbands, leaving aside Draupadi whose case was different?” Last but not the least, Aashka also wants an answer to a query. “Why are only women looked down upon as sex objects and not men? Most glossies would love to have sexy women on their cover in their bikinis, why don’t they have hot looking men in their jockeys,” questions Aashka. Thought provoking indeed, are you queries Aashka!!!
