Veteran and talented actor Ali Raza Namdar who is seen playing Kumud’s father in Saraswatichandra (Sphere Origins) is also taking up episodic projects in other shows.
Tellychakkar.com had earlier reported about him featuring in Savdhan India and Ye Hai Aashiqui, and now the actor is back on Sony Entertainment Television’s Crime Patrol (Optimystix Productions), playing a father who will be fighting for his daughter’s right.
Talking about the episode, Ali says, “It is a story of a girl, played by Heena Parmar who has been kept as a captive by her in-laws for a long time. The father’s journey to fight for his daughter and bring her justice will be the plot. It’s saddening to see women facing so much pain and anguish after marriage.”
With crimes on women rising, does he feel that such shows can educate the people? “It definitely helps, but then the overall attitude of the society needs to change. The first episode that I did for Crime Patrol had me playing a father to a girl drowned in drugs; after the show was aired, I met a man who thanked me for the episode and said he showed his children the episode and how drugs can harm their life.”
Finally speaking on him being part of so many episodics, the actor says, “I have a special bond with Crime Patrol since I have been part of their quite a number of episodes. Their working style is quite different and it’s surely a break to act realistically rather the everyday melodramas for daily shows all the time. And I think they like my work, so they keep calling me (laughs).”
This particular episode will be aired today and tomorrow (30 and 31 August 2013).
