FilmFarm India, makers of the successful long-running show on Colors, namely Uttaran, has been in news recently for the high profile cast they are looking at, for their upcoming Zee TV show which has a Rajashthani backdrop.
After roping in Arhaan Behll as lead and Marathi actress Shubhangi Latkar to play his mother, they have now finalized senior actor Ishrat Ali to essay the role of Arhaan’s father. Ishrat Ali, who has been seen in movies like Agyaat, Swaha, Rajdhani Express, will essay a negative shaded role in the show.
As for the female lead, we hear that it was a tough competition between Umang Jain and Charlie Chauhan of Best Friends Forever fame. However, we get to understand that it is Umang who has bagged the role of the protagonist.
Veteran actor Alok Nath gets back to Zee TV with this show, and is slated to play the grandfather of the female lead. Aksshat Gupta has been signed to play the parallel lead.
We tried contacting Ishrat Ali but could not get to him.
When contacted, Alok Nath said, “I have a very nice association with Zee TV, and I have been working with them since the days of Tara. Presently, talks are on and I will be able to confirm anything only after I begin shooting for the show.”
Producer Pintoo Guha did not revert to our text messages.
We hear that the show is slated to go on floors sometime in July (2013).
