Birthday boy Nakuul Mehta opines on #MeToo
MUMBAI: Television actor Nakuul Mehta, who turns a year older today (17th January), says that with the #MeToo revolution, the glass ceiling has been shattered, and now, it is time for men to introspect.

The Me Too movement took the country by storm. It saw several actresses coming out in the open and taking names of those who sexually harassed them. Some of the big names of the entertainment industry who were accused of assault and misconduct include Nana Patekar, Alok Nath Vikas Bahl, and Sajid Khan. The latest celebrity to be accused of wrongful behaviour is director Rajkumar Hirani.

So, when Nakuul was recently asked about his opinion on the Me Too movement, he said to a leading publication, 'With the #MeToo revolution, the glass ceiling has been shattered, voices have been heard, and gender equality has made it through. Now, it is time for men to introspect.'

'#MeToo has made me introspect too. I think about my behaviour in the work space and wonder how I can bring in change. Have I been complicit in anyway or not stood up for a friend? Men need to understand where their prejudices originate from, acknowledge the conditioning of our environment, and have dialogues with people,' added the actor, who is currently seen as Shivaansh Singh Oberoi in the soap Ishqbaaz - Pyaar Ki Ek Dhinchak Kahani.

Speaking about his birthday plans, Nakuul, according to reports, will be working and later spending quality time with family. He will spend time with his grandfather and have dinner with his wife Jankee Parekh along with a few friends.

TellyChakkar wishes Nakuul a very happy birthday!
