It seems that Balaji Telefilms is having a tough time post the sequential leap in their popular Sony Entertainment Television show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. And crux seems to be the issue of roping in the grown up negative shaded Pihu. We will get to it, but before that, here’s some exclusive info which we have received just now which we intend to share with the readers of Tellychakkar.com.
We have learnt that the creatives have now planned to cast a new character Suhani in the thick of things.
Suhani will be a completely positive character; she will be the sweet and charming girl who will be taking care of Priya (Sakshi Tanwar) who has been in coma. Lot many known faces were auditioned for the role, and now it looks as though Ekta Kaul –who essayed the lead in Zee TV’s Rab Se Sohna Isshq – will bag the prized offer.
When contacted, Ekta said, “Talks are on, but nothing is final. I have not even given a look test.”
One more character introduction. Will it complicate issues? Well, only time can answer that.
But coming back to the character of Pihu, it was Fenil Umrigar who was first given a go ahead. Fenil was on cloud nine after being roped in for the project and in PR conducted interviews she shared her gusto on sharing screen space with television’s biggies Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar.
And then a bomb dropped and the girl was replaced!!!
What was the reason? Reports suggested that producer perfectionist Ekta Kapoor was not really happy with Fenil’s performance and with the character all geared up to turn negative; she wanted an actor of much stronger capabilities.
Fenil who had been giving out interviews claiming that she is not getting replaced finally had to bow down and quit the show. She now claims she is not happy with the way her character is shaping up (we understand girl).
Then came the news of actress Akshita Kapoor- who had earlier worked with Balaji in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Kitani Mohabbat Hai- to be the new Pihu. But we have exclusive information that even Akshita has not been given the final nod by Ekta.
Akshita shared in a chat with Tellychakkar.com, “Well, I am a student (she is pursuing a course in interior designing) and things were not working out between the production house and my schedules. So I am not doing the show as I want to give my course the first priority for now.”
Aha…so she is not doing Bade Achhe…
Another name Amrita Prakash was also in contention. But she too confirmed that she is not a part of the Sony project. “With my mom being unwell, I do not want to take up something that will take too much of my time. And I did get a call from Balaji, but then there were no further developments from their side.”
It seems casting of Pihu has led to utter confusion in the Balaji camp. The cast and crew are also clueless on who will be the new Pihu and when will she be introduced. With the track leading towards the wedding of Pihu, the dramatic sequence where Pihu’s negative side will be revealed is kept on hold by introduction of more and more celebrations to the marriage ceremony. The story is just dragging itself and other characters that were to be introduced have also been shown the yellow light for now.
As Vinty Advani said, “We are currently shooting for the sangeet ceremony, and Fenil is still shooting for it. Honestly, we have no idea when the new Pihu will be cast.”
Charlie Chauhan, who was all set to get on the show adds, “I have no information when my character will enter the show, for the time being I have been told to wait.”
Another source added that Ekta has become finicky with Pihu’s casting and she is supervising on the developments very seriously. Reason being the future tracks will primarily revolve around Pihu and her negative histrionics. All the newbies somehow are not managing to please the creative sentiments of Ekta.
“Ekta’s right hand and creative head at Balaji, Chloe has moved on. She is no longer with Balaji. Hence things are getting a bit difficult for Ekta to handle,” added a source.
Whatever be it, we hope that the search for Pihu comes to an end and the show’s plot gets a wheel rather than dragging and hitting the dreary route.
