Casting couch is very much prevalent in this industry - Aditi Sajwan

Aditi Sajwan
Aditi Sajwan, who made waves in the telly world with her luminous and charming personality has done challenging roles in various genres such as social drama, mythological, historical shows. Now the actress is busy with the comedy cum fantasy based show Baalveer on SAB TV. Says Aditi, “From the time I was a child, my mother wanted me to be an actor and with me being active in dramatics from a very young age, I debuted with my first show Meri Doli Tere Angana on Zee TV when I was in the junior college. And it is from there that my acting graph started growing. I have always loved to experiment with genres even while essaying those typical conventional roles which are positive in nature.” Ask her about the roles she would love to essay on-screen and the beautiful lady goes on to answer, “Well, I would love to essay the role of Jodha in Jodha Akbar. Also, I think I could have given a different streak to Sandhya’s character in Diya Aur Bati Hum. Since I have never done reality shows, I would like to explore the adventurous me. I wish I could be a part of Khatron Ke Khiladi.” With actors migrating from the TV world to films, Aditi is of the opinion that though doing TV shows makes you a household name, public memory does not adhere to favoritism for a long time. “Films are considered to be a better option than TV because they are documented and have a natural transition of giving an actor something which is larger than life.” Adding further she observes, “Holding to that thought, I would like to state that it is not an unknown fact that the term casting couch is very much prevalent in this industry. Though I have not been victimized and foresee myself doing some good films, I have to be cautious at the same time, of not facing the ugly reality. On the contrary I also advise strugglers to work where their dignity lies and avoid falling into nasty situations.” Well said, Aditi!!
