To eject or not to eject, that is the question that is going on in the stunning and sultry Deeya Chopra’s mind. Roshni Chopra’s younger sister has got into this dilemma because she is quite dissatisfied with the way her character of an NRI bahu Ria Kaushik’s on Zee TV’s Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein is shaping up. “I feel I can contribute a lot more ,” she says matter of factly. “All the characters in the show are not properly developed. Each of them was supposed to have a sub story and not just romance and friction. The story is not coming out the way it was promised to me during narration. It was supposed to be a story of five different daughters-in-laws controlled by a dominating mother-in-law. It gets difficult traveling for an hour-and-a-half from my Yari Road residence to the distant Mira Road set when you are not happy with your work.” So has she voiced her discontent to the production house, Rashmi Sharma Telefilms, or the channel? Deeya answers in the affirmative, adding that they have promised to look into her concerns. She highlights that she has “decided to give them two months failing which I might be forced to take a call If I get something big. I am already doing other work which gives me creative satisfaction. My new Lakme commercial has just hit the air waves.” The low TRPs of Mrs. Kaushik are not something to get too concerned about Is Deeya’s opinion. Says she: “You need to understand that Zee is going through a bad phase now. Had the same show been on Star Plus, it would have rated much better. But having said that this is just a temporary phase. We all know how Sony has suddenly picked up of late. At one time, it was in negative territory.” She, however, clarified that she owes a lot to Zee TV. “They have given me my first mainstream commercial drama (Left Right Left season 2 and Love Story were youth shows) and they have launched my her elder sister Roshni Chopra as well ( Kasamh Se). I also have no problems with the unit either. They recently celebrated my birthday as well.” Here’s hoping her role will get back on track and she does not have to resort to extreme measures!!!
