Did heartbreak make Jay Soni opt for arranged marriage?

Normally TV actors shy away from arranged marriages for it affects their image. But Jay Soni who came into prominence with the super hit Star Plus show Sasural Genda Phool has decided to marry footwear designer Pooja Shah, as per his mom’s choice. Hence we got to work and tried to find out what made him marry someone he is not in love with. According to sources, Jay who will soon wrap up the shooting of his current show on Colors’ Sanskaar, has had a painful love experience. The same source added, “He was involved with a Sindhi girl working in a high end international financial firm during Sasural says but when the show ended, she apparently walked out on him.” Hmm…aha… So is it possible that this heartbreak shattered young Jay’s illusions of love and he decided to opt for the tried and tested traditional route of arranged marriage? We spoke to the lad about it but before sharing his talks, here’s some more info. Jay was supposed to get engaged last month but the plan was postponed. And guess what? Jay, who is quite close to the Sasural unit, will introduce his would-be-patni to them at a get together which is scheduled to happen soon. Now let’s see what Jay has to say on the entire development. “The only reason why I opted for an arranged marriage is because I want a simple girl who would lead a happy life. I also want to settle down and career will take its own natural course.” When we broached the point of his above break up, he said, “Why dredge up old matters? I don’t want to talk about what went wrong. It does suffice to say I am quite a practical man who will not let emotions sway my decisions.” He furthered informed the engagement will take place very soon.
