Saas-bahu serials are been doing the rounds on TV for quite a long timenow. But it’s always good when makers like Jay and Kinnari Mehta bring up something fresh for their audience. Yes, we are talking about Sony Entertainment Television’s Ekk Nayi Pehchaan that has been doing wonderful in terms of dishing out something new apart from the done to death relationship issues of saas-bahu sagas.
Well, as you all know the story is based on a Gujrati novel Sharda, which strategically is Poonam Dhillon’s character name in the show. Sharda, who is out on a quest to discover herself after years of marriage and having kids and grandkids, is aptly helped by her daughter-in-law Sakshi (Krystle D’souza).
But but but…this is a TV show and how can things be so easy for women. And thus causing some trouble to Sharda will be her saas (Rita Bhaduri). Poor Sharda, wish her saas could take some inspirations from her and be a friend rather than the usual conspiring mother-in-law to Sharda.
And now this scheming mother-in-law will fall ill leaving the poor Sharda to nurse her back to good health. And thus falling in the trap of responsibility once again, Sharda will not be able to trot her way to her coaching class to educate herself.
So who will come and act as a saviour to this helpless soul now? No points for guessing, it will be Sharda’s bahu Sakshi. How she is going to take charge of the situation will be for the audience to see.
Poonam could not be reached to give in her take on this dramatic sequence.
