Gurdeep Kohli gets Rowdy

Talented TV actress Gurdeep Kohli has made her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar starrer Rowdy Rathore, where she is playing a cop. But she could not be any different than several other TV stars who hardly get screen space whenever they do films. It was quite disappointed for she hardly spoke (in just one scene) and did anything expect look sad. She was always a part of the motley crowd of cop supporters of local police boss Vikram Rathore (Akshay).

It was quite disappointed for she hardly spoke (in just one scene) and did anything expect look sad. She was always a part of the motley crowd of cop supporters of local police boss Vikram Rathore (Akshay). However, when we called up Gurdeep, she was quite happy and she stated, “I have got many phone calls from family and friends since Friday (1 June, when the film released) morning praising my work.” She also did not have any major issues with the fact that she was just part of the landscape and hardly spoke, “I played an important role in the film. Here unlike TV you are not ranked by the number of scenes you get or the sheetful of dialogues you mouth. I might have not spoken much but I was chosen as they needed an actor who can deliver proper emotions.” She also accepted that till now few TV actors have successfully made the leap to big screen, “But I have time as this was my first outing in films. Many of my small screen contemporaries do films which never get released. Here my film was out in six months, plus I shared screen space with a biggie no less than Akshay Kumar.” So will she do more films, “Why not?” Gurdeep, better known for her power-packed performances in Sanjivani and Sindoor Tere Naam Ka amongst others, had taken a break from TV for motherhood. She returned in the small screen space last year with Disney Channel’s Best of Luck Nikki. “The same show is now coming back with season 2 and I am a part of it. It has started from 3 June (2012). This first week of June has been quite lucky for me (above film and the show),” she ended. Keep up the good work Gurdeep!!!
