Much like her blink and miss appearance in Bollywood, Rakhi Sawant's interview with us lasted for not more than three minutes. And by the end of the third minute, Rakhi staged a walk out a la Narendra Modi just because we started asking her some 'tough' questions. For starters, we caught Rakhi unaware by calling her directly on her personal number without any assistance from her publicist. This meant she had to be spontaneous. She first screened us suspiciously asking where, when and why this interview. Once we answered her 'Ws' satisfactorily, Rakhi tried excusing herself saying, "I am tired." We implored her to spare not more than five minutes and she reluctantly agreed and this is what followed-
Rakhi, Mumbai is going to polls tomorrow. You are contesting for the first time. Why do you want voters to vote for your party?
I want people to vote for me and not any party.
Alright. So why would people vote for you?
See, I will send you my manifesto. You read it. Okay. I am tired. I don't have the stamina.
We have the manifesto Rakhi. But it would be great if you can say it yourself?
I will serve the poor people in my constituency which other politicians have not. I will work for women empowerment. Others have only made promises and never delivered. I will deliver.
Normally voters don't believe in movie stars taking up politics. Why do you think people will take you seriously?
I have left the film industry completely for politics. Why will they not take me seriously? I am here to sincerely work and serve my people.
What do you have to say about Modi and Bollywood stars supporting him?
Who do you want to see as our Prime Minister?
No comments. Thank you very much.
Well, all we can say is Rakhiji if you have decided to become the people's representative, you should be taking some tough questions from the media rather than beating a hasty retreat.
