Jackie Shroff is well known for his diverse on-screen characters and his charismatic personality. Recognized for his unique style and philanthropic side, not many know that our bhidu likes to cook in his spare time. Jackie has been fascinated with cooking since his childhood days.  He is a foodie and has been very vocal about his food preferences.

Anurag Basu who is equally a foodie revealed that Jaggu dada is fond of cooking and ‘Baingan Ka Bhartha’ is one of his favorite dishes. As Anurag’s love for food is not hidden from viewers he made arrangements for Jackie to cook his loved dish. Jackie happily agreed and shared his secret recipe of ‘Baingan Ka Bhartha’ with the judges and audience and prepared it in a jiffy like a pro. Apparently, Jackie Shroff has learnt cooking from his mother. And ‘Baingan Ka Bharta’ was her signature dish. He also mentioned that he aspired to become a chef at The Taj Hotels but life gave him second chance through acting.  

The three judges- Shilpa Shetty, Anurag Basu and Geeta Kapur were quite surprised to see his phenomenal culinary skills. They went up to the stage and were all engrossed as to how he prepared it.   

A source from the sets revealed that, though Shilpa follows a very strict diet, she kept her diet aside for a day and was seen licking her finger tips on tasting the mouthwatering bhartha that Jackie had prepared. The contestants and their Super Gurus couldn’t stay away from the utterly delicious bhartha and were seen pouncing on him to taste it.
