There is an Irish proverb which says that ‘Laughter is brightest where food is best’, and hearing the loud laughter from the sets of Sony Entertainment Television’s Ekk Nayi Pehchaan, we wondered what was happening during the lunch hours there. Speaking to the talented Sooraj Thapar we got to know some fun tidbits from the lunch break session of this popular show. “Firstly, we have these never ending lunch breaks where everyone from the cast gets together to enjoy some fun moment. Also you can’t eat outside food everyday so every one of us actually gets food from home. Thus there is a huge variety of food for all of us to relish,” he shares. Talking about the food habits, Sooraj lets in a secret. “Krystle (D’souza) hardly eats, she seems to be least interested in food, actually. Even if her mother sends two spoons of food, she will only have half a spoon and give the rest to us. She actually sells her food to us and forces us to have the whole thing. Only when there is kadhi that the girl can eat well and that too for breakfast, lunch and dinner,” he smiles and says. And what about the other lead Karan Sharma, we asked. “Oh, he is the scapegoat of everyone. Whoever has extra food always catches him to finish it off. He has a good appetite to actually gobble up so much food (laughs). But when we have tasty dabbas we actually hide it from him to save some for us. But Karan is a very good boy and we all just indulge in some leg pulling all the time.” Well, the family that eats together is surely a happy one like yours!
