Not Kanchi, but it was Ragini who was the first choice to play nanad in Meri Bhabhi

Kanchi Kaul’s comeback vehicle on TV post her marriage, with the Star Plus show Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi.. Meri Bhabhi (DJ’s A Creative Unit) has been a welcome change for viewers. The actress with her remarkably adorable looks and innocent smile has been captivating viewers in the role of the ‘Nanad’ in the newly launched show. However, things could have been different, had this role been accepted by the equally bubbly and chirpy actress Ragini Khanna. Before you readers jump into any conclusion, hear us out!!! As per our sources, Ragini happened to be the first choice for the role of the Nanad in the show. Ragini who got free after her Star Plus show Sasural Genda Phool ended, apparently turned down this plump offer. Since then, she went on to host reality shows Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 (Colors) and India’s Best Dramebaaz (Zee TV). Ragini also awaits the release of her upcoming Hindi film Singh Saheb The Great and Punjabi film Bhaji in Problem. In between, there were reports that Ragini might yet again join hands with the producer of Sasural Genda Phool, Ravi Ojha Productions for their upcoming show titled Ek Daal Par Tota Bole. We tried contacting Ragini, but could not reach her. Our efforts to get to producer Tony Singh to know about their initial plans to cast Ragini in Meri Bhabhi turned futile.
