Actor Parichay Sharma has been giving his best in the ‘man-child’ role that he plays in Colors’ long-running show Balika Vadhu.
As we know, Parichay was earlier seen in Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya and Sadda Haq. He recently joined the illustrious cast of Balika Vadhu in the role of Pushkar, the would-be groom of Kamli.
For Parichay, this role was indeed challenging. However, he was apprehensive about playing the demanding role, and got into frequent discussions with the director.
Said Parichay, “There is a very thin line between playing a mentally retarded character and a man-child. And we had to take care of the minute variations.”
The path ahead was tough indeed, but Parichay managed to derive inspiration from one actor for the above-said role. “Anil Kapoor’s man-child role in the movie Eeshwar was simply outstanding. And when I got this role, I decided to see the movie. I must have seen it nearly 4-5 times to watch for his expressions while talking, his mannerisms while walking, eating etc. To sum it up, Anil Kapoor’s Eeshwar has been my inspiration, no doubt to play this role.”
Although Parichay was a tad-bit nervous when he started shoot, he received a major compliment from his co-stars on the very first day of shoot which made him feel at ease. “As I started shoot, my co-actors thought I was truly a man-child, and that the production house had gone on to bring a real-life character for the role. And by the end of the day, when they realized that I was normal, they appreciated me for my acting prowess. That was indeed a nice beginning for me.”
Parichay admits that there is a long way to go as far as the character is concerned, and would eagerly await the responses from his fans and loyal viewers of Balika Vadhu.
Parichay, we wish you luck!!
