It’s been ten long years since versatile actor Rahil Azam donned the role of Hatim on television!! His magnificent portrayal of the super-hero in Sagar Arts’ masterpiece is even today remembered and talked about!!
And the same was witnessed when Rahil set foot into the very famous Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Benaras, to shoot his sequences for his upcoming big-ticket show on Life OK, to be produced by Ashwini Dheer’s Garima Productions.
A source who witnessed the entire scene at the BHU told us, “Well, it was a sight to remember and appreciate. The scene was set at the BHU for the cast and crew of Ashwini Dheer to shoot for their upcoming Life OK show, to be based on the classic novel by Dr. Dharamvir Bharati’s Gunahon Ka Devta. It was a working day, and BHU happens to be a University that sees nearly 20,000 students studying. When the word spread about Rahil Azam being in the university to shoot for his show, the students literally bunked their classes and flocked out to the shoot spot in huge numbers, just to get a glance of the ‘original’ Hatim. The scene was amazing, considering the fact that Rahil enacted the role of Hatim years back. The crowd of students gathered so swiftly that the shoot had to be stalled for some time.”
With this information, we buzzed Rahil, who plays the male protagonist in this Ashwini Dheer presentation. He acknowledged this piece of news and said, “I am always aware of the fact that I was loved and adored globally as Hatim. But little did I imagine that the intensity of the craze would last for a decade and will still be going strong. Thanks to Allah for this love and respect. I am extremely proud to be a part of such a larger than life project which happens to be the only show in the history of Indian TV to have been re-telecasted innumerable times on the prime channel Star Plus, in spite of TV being dominated by women-based shows.”
Recently Tellychakkar.com had reported about Ashwini Dheer and his crew shooting at the Rewari Locomotive Shed where they shot sequences using India’s one of the first steam engines.
We also hear that at Benaras, the unit shot at some memorable places that include the BHU, at the ghats of Benaras, at the oldest library situated there and many other places.
Rahil, must say, your ‘Hatim’ portrayal is simply iconic!!
