Raj Chhabriya who has done lot of episodic stories in Fear Files, CID, Gumraah, Savdhan India, will now play lead in Doordarshan’s upcoming show, Humnawaaz, which starts on 31 July, at 1 PM.

The show will depict the love story of a Haryanvi boy and a South Indian girl. It will also deal with various issues faced by people in the villages of Haryana like domination of panchayats, no gender equality for women, rich suppressing the poor farmers etc. Also, there will be a central focus on the love story of Rajbir and Sarojini.

Raj who has till now not played a romantic character is eagerly looking forward to portray the character of Rajbir, who will be an out and out romantic guy.

Talking about his role, Raj told us, “Playing this character has been a challenge mainly because of the Haryanvi dialect used. I love to prepare for my role, and I watched a lot of Haryanvi videos on Youtube. Rajbir is positive, supports his father’s ideologies, is funny at times and is a romantic at heart. So it is real fun playing him.”

The show will have Raj Chhabriya and Neelam Gandhi in lead roles. Ranjit, Mushtaq Khan, Farida Dadi, Geeta Shankar, Navneet Hullad Moradabadi, Richa Sony are part of the cast. It will be produced by SMR Telefilms.
