Rucha Gujarathi
Rucha Gujarathi, who had taken a break from television after Rang Badalti Odhani, is currently seen in Saas Bina Sasural on Sony Entertainment. She plays the role of Kiya in the daily, a very rich NRI girl. Though she is rich, she doesn’t have any money. “Incidentally, her deceased father’s will says that she will inherit the money only when she marries Ved Prakash Chaturvedi (Rishi Khurana). Or else the money will go to Chhedilal Chaturvedi (Darshan Jariwala). Hence, unwillingly she has agreed to get married to Ved,” reveals Rucha. And that is not it; she has great expectations from her character. “Optimystix (production house) have promised me that my role will have a great graph as the story unfolds in the near future,” she adds. She also tells us that the show has a strong social message. “We wish to make the public aware about the importance of love and togetherness which are an integral part of Indian culture, and alien to the individualistic culture of the west,” says the actress. In fact, Rucha loves to play a baddie. “Playing a negative/grayish character is very interesting. It allows you to grow as an actor,” She has done negative shades before in Waqt Batayega Kaun Apna Kaun Paraya and Kkusum and now Saas Bina Sasural. Rucha, who came in the limelight with shows like Kkusum and Bhabhi, is happy with the way her career has shaped up. “I have done very great work over the last few years,” says Rucha. She is feels great to have played both positive and negative characters. “My varied characters have allowed me to play with different emotions and the journey has been so beautiful that I can’t help smiling when I think about the same,” she beams. On the personal front, Rucha is happily married. And she is sure she will be able to keep her personal and professional life apart. “I will be able to successfully strike a balance,” ends Rucha.
