Shalini S Sahuta who presently hosts the ‘surprise’ based couple show Date Knight on NDTV Good Times is so much carried away with the concept of the show that she decided to give her mother a ‘huge surprise’ on her birthday!! Says Shalini, “I got so carried away that I went all the way to a different city to surprise my mom for her birthday.” The girl who had a break from her shoot in Delhi, went all the way to Punjab where her mother was vacationing. Shalini explains her action plan, “This would have been the first time that my mom would not have been with me on her birthday. So I packed my bags, and bought a bag full of gifts for her and landed up at 12 at her doorstep. My dad helped me to plan this surprise as I did not know where they were staying. So I had to take his help. But he was very sweet, and maintained absolute discretion. When she saw me at the doorstep, my mom’s expression was priceless. She yelled and then had ‘khushi ke aansoo’. We then visited the Golden Temple and celebrated the day with family. We have stayed all our lives in Mumbai, and it was sheer bliss to visit Punjab.” Shalini, you are indeed a sweet daughter!!
