Star Jalsha to feature Mahalaya special programme 'Abhaya Mangal'

The channel Star Jalsha has planned for a Mahalaya special programme titled ‘Abhaya Mangal’. In the show, actress Priyanka Sarkar is playing the role of Devi Durga.

Time to smile as we bring a piece of good news for all the loyal viewers of Star Jalsha!

When it comes to Mahalaya, viewers know that the channel tries to present unique program content. Like every year, this year too, it has something fresh to offer to its audiences.

The story of Mahalaya this year is a part of ‘Chandi Mangal’, a text from 16th century Bengal. ‘Abhaya Mangal’ reinforces the dominance of good over evil and spreading goodwill across human races through the captivating tales of Goddess Durga in popular Bengali folklore.

So, the story of this year will go like this…a poor but charming young tribal couple, Kalketu and Phullora, live in the forest and spend their days happily.

One day, Kalketu will bring a golden chameleon as his catch. As Phullara will try to destroy the chameleon, Goddess Chandi will appear from that animal before her with all of her heavenly splendors.

Upon seeing Phullara, Chandi will feel pity. So, she will grant them a grand fortune making Kalketu and Phullara enormously wealthy overnight.

Utilizing their wealth, they will establish a new township, named Gujarat.

A shrewd fraud, named Bhandu Datta will become a close associate of Kalketu by feigning wisdom and goodness.

Initially, Kalketu will trust Bhandu. But one day he will become aware of his real motives and will throw him out of his court.

Bhandu will flee to Kalinga and instigate the king to attack Gujarat.

At the outset, Kalketu will be defeated and imprisoned but finally by the grace of Chandi, he will succeed to overcome all the troubles. He will go back to heaven after death.

The show will see Priyanka Sarkar as Devi Durga, Rudranil Ghosh as Bhandu Datta, Sudipta Chakraborty as Phullora and Anirban Bhattacharya as Kalketu.

Debolina Datta and Rimjhim Moitro will make special appearances.

So readers, gear up for the show.

Produced by Fisheye Productions and directed by Shiladitya Sanyal, it will be aired on 30 September, 5 am.
