Except Rishta.com, most of the Yash Raj Films shows on Sony have met their end. However, the good news for the followers of those shows is that the producers are all set to launch the new batch of shows later this year. Apparently, they are coming up with a show titled Duty Bound and Bhagya this October and December respectively. According to our source, “The production house is being extremely careful about the marketing strategies for their shows. This time, they are planning to launch their shows at regular intervals and not collectively like they did earlier. Also, they are planning to launch their first show Duty Bound this October followed by Bhagya in December.” The source adds, “Bhagya, is a story based on one of the novels by Jeffery Archer. Rahul Bagga, who played the character of Mahendra Ranade in Powder and Viraf Patel, who starred in Mahi Way will play the leads. The rest of the star cast includes Khalida Khan and Rasika Duggal, who too acted in Powder.” TellyChakkar had earlier reported the Rahul-Viraf show to be an adaptation of the famous Kane and Abel Archer novel. Ajay Balwankar, the programming head for Sony, confirmed the news saying, “Yes, we are associated with Yash Raj Films for their new shows that shall be launched this year. However, for now it’s too early to reveal anything more than this.” The third show is slated to be launched in February 2011.
