Yuvraj Malhotra better known as Karan of Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann is making a full-fledged return to TV through Shubh Vivah on Sony Entertainment Television which premieres on 27 February at 7pm. “I play a very sweet guy called Bansi who is a silent lover of Saroj (Neha Janpandit).” His entry will happen from the first day of the show. “I have never done anything like this before. Bansi is an out and out positive guy,” Yuvraj said on why he accepted this role. The actor’s last major show was Smriti Irani's Waaris and his character nama was Shaurya. He was apparently thrown out of above Zee TV show for allegedly assaulting a co- worker and even his CINTAA (you can’t work in the industry without this) card was revoked. However, Yuvraj has a different story to tell, “Nobody saw all the hard work I put in, I did not go home for days at end. Smriti did not appreciate all this and rather spread false stories about me.” But why did he not lash back? “I did not respond then for I had signed film by then. Unfortunately my Bollywood debut was delayed for two years, we hope to release it later this year,” adds Yuvraj. So what did you do in the interim? “My contract prevented me from doing lead roles so I did cameos and guest appearances in Aruna Irani's Doli Saja Ke Rakhna (Sahara One) and Balaji Telefilms’ Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil on STAR Plus." However, the matter between him and the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi star is still unresolved. “She didn’t even take my calls. She still owes me Rs 15 lakhs.” He further adds that he was being made a scapegoat for a show which was anyways not doing well and hence went off air. “It is not my fault if you don’t give good production values. We were shooting four or five locations on the same set.” Looking back, he accepted that all the negative publicity did affect his market potential: “Obviously producers and channels kept their distance and I can't go around explaining my stance to one and all.”
