Maayka is soon going off air. The show produced by Creative Eye is finally going to conclude after a run of two years. The show has always been under the scanner since quite some time now. Zee has many shows ready for take-off and the strongest contender to fill in Maayka’s vacant slot is Contiloe’s Rani Lakhsmi Bai. Informs our source from the show, “Yes, Maayka is finally ending. We have been hearing about the show’s fate for sometime and now it has been sealed. The show has done well throughout its span of two years. It’s disheartening that the show is coming to an end but it is in the best interest of the channel.” When contacted actor Vivaan Bhatena (Shabd) showed ignorance about the conclusion of the show but Neha Bamb (Mahi) confirmed the news. The actress said, “Yes, the show is ending on 14 August.” Our source also informs us that the show that is expected to replace Maayka is Contiloe’s Rani Lakhsmi Bai. The show’s promos are currently running on the channel. Rani Lakshmi Bai will have Kritika Sengar, Ulka Gupta, Aroona Irani and Mithkesh Chaturvedi. A source from Rani Lakhshmi Bai, said, “Earlier we were informed that the show will launch on 27 August but with a historical show as big as this, it wasn’t easy. We have to yet create a bank of five episodes. Going by the latest information I too am hearing that the show will launch in August.” We sent a text message to both Zee TV Programming Head Ajay Bhalwankar and producer Dheeraj Kumar, but they didn’t revert.
