Top Producers of 2014...Take a look

Top Producers of 2014

The year 2015 has started with a ‘bang’ with few new shows being launched in the first month itself!! Oh well, we look forward to lot more happening shows in the year ahead.

Having said this, our ‘Year-Ender’ edition for the year 2014 rolls out yet again, as we take this opportunity to appreciate the work of the Producers/Production houses which did some splendid work in the year gone by.

Balaji Telefilms (Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Kumkum Bhagya, Jodha Akbar, MTV Webbed, others)

We can say that the Czarina is back, and like what!! Balaji Telefilms launched nearly eight huge shows in one single year. And Ekta rules the rating charts every week with three of her popular shows Kumkum Bhagya, Jodha Akbar and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. This simply goes on to show that the lady has immense strength and creative capabilities to start off from scratch and gain supremacy all by herself!! Kudos to her work and determination!! Keep the creative juices flowing this year too.

Beyond Dreams (Ek Veer Ki Ardaas – Veera, Sadda Haq – My Life My Choice)

Again, the makers showed a great example by sustaining the success rate that the little heroes and of course, the heroines did manage to achieve!! The show saw a leap this year, and all the critics’ eyes were fixed on the show to see if it would grow or fall.. And wow, the makers did find a splendid cast in Shivin Narang, Digangana Suryavanshi, Vishal Vashishtha and Farnaz Shetty. And they have had a fantabulous run in the year gone by!!

Contiloe Entertainment (Maharana Pratap, Adaalat)

This historical saga saw a great beginning, no doubt with the story revolving around the young Pratap, essayed by Faizal Khan. Well, it was a testing time indeed for the makers to take the much-anticipated leap, thus bringing in the grown-up warrior Maharana Pratap into action. We must say, the channel and maker got their very important casting right!! And this show paved the way for the very popular Ssharad Malhotra to make a comeback on the small screen in the title role. The actor has not only managed to win back the confidence of his loyal fans, but has gone on to add to the popularity factor of the show by being its face. Great job, team Maharana Pratap for sustaining the success story and taking it to newer heights. Of course, Contiloe yet again needs a tap on their back for continuing to impress viewers with their court-room drama Adaalat, with the mighty Ronit Roy as K.D. Pathak.

Colosceum Media Pvt. Ltd. (Splitsvilla 7)

The Season 7 of Splitsvilla was huge, in terms of the popularity garnered and its numbers. It broke all the past records set by the earlier six seasons, and went on to set new records for the broadcaster. The season saw an interesting line-up of contestants, their popularity and controversy factors did help the show to grow. Mayank Gandhi and Scarlett Rose emerged as the winners.

Fireworks Productions (Shapath, CID)

Their show CID has achieved many landmarks that no Indian TV show has seen so far. Just recently, the long-running show entered into its 18th year run, thus making the entire team and cast proud. Also, the popularity that their other show Shapath has garnered over time has been enormous.

Grazing Goat Pictures (Jamai Raja)

In a very short span of time, this Akshay Kumar produced show has reached heights of popularity. The light-hearted entertaining subject of the ‘Ghar Jamai’ son-in-law and his rich and ambitious mother-in-law has some powerful performers who are doing a splendid job.

K9 and SOL (Comedy Nights with Kapil)

The show’s successful run carried forward in the year 2014, with the magic of Kapil Sharma and his team mesmerizing the fans and loyal viewers of the show.

Neela Telefilms (Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah)

Even after six long years, the show Taarak Mehta… that is the ‘baap’ of all comedy shows continues a good run. The interesting plots and the amazing screen presence of all the actors in the show have kept the audiences glued to the show.

Rashmi Sharma Productions (Saathiya, Sasural Simar Ka)

They have two long-running shows still going strong. And with the production house all set to launch as many as 3 new shows in the New Year, they are really a force to reckon with, and one of the bests in the business.

Swastik Productions (Mahabharat)

Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s long-standing dream of making this epic tale got fulfilled in a big way. And the magnum-opus show managed to grab eyeballs for its high production values, enormously rich sets and the brilliant portrayal of every actor in the show.

Shashi-Sumeet Productions (Diya Aur Baati Hum, Tumhari Paakhi)

Again, they happen to be one production house which has managed to sustain the popularity of their long-running show, and maintain high levels of consistency. Also, their show on Life OK, Tumhari Paakhi managed to impress one and all with its unique content.

Well, here are the producers who followed the policy – ‘Make hay while the sun shines’….in the year 2014. Here’s wishing them all the very best for the New Year.
