U/A certificate
Vishal Bhardwaj and Ekta Kapoor’s Ek Thi Daayan, directed by Kannan Iyer, is the first thriller-horror to have received a U/A certificate from the Censors.
Contrary to initial perception that the film would be limited only to an adult audience, the U/A certificate clearly establishes the film’s enhanced potential and appeal among the youngsters as much as among adults.

Bejoy Nambiar’s much talked-about David was cleared by the Censor Board Of Film Certification(CBFC) late on Monday night with just two minor cuts in the episode featuring Vinay Virmani.
It is learnt from reliable sources that the Examining Committee of the CBFC had ordered prominent cuts in the episode featuring Vinay Virmani which deals with the sensitive issue of religious fundamentalism.
Rather than take the cuts Bejoy went to the Revising Committee of the CBFC to fight against the Examining Committee’s decision.

The Censor Board has cleared Aamir Khan’s upcoming release Talaash with a U/A certificate.
Film trade circles were apprehensive of the kind of certificate the Censors would dish out given the fact that the film is a suspense drama with serial killings at the core of it. Some even feared that the film may be deemed unfit for kids and teenagers and hence would be given an 'A' certificate.

Producer Mukesh Bhatt is an aggrieved man. The revising committee of the Censor Board (CBFC) while granting his film Jannat 2 a U/A certificate, has used a rider along with that it can be aired on TV only after 11 pm.
Avers Bhatt, “This is ridiculous! Can you have a red signal for the autos and the other for a car? Why this discrimination? Both Agneepath and Jannat 2 are granted U/A certificates, the Karan Johar film is telecast in the prime time slot and mine relegated to the 11 pm, so called adult slot.”
