Vicky Donor fame Annu Kapoor is in the midst of shooting for his next film titled Muavza, a satire on the lives of the neo riche of Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR). The film, being produced by Jagdish P. Gupta, is being directed by Girish Juneja.
The actor is portraying the role of Bechu Bhai, Gujjar. Briefing about his role, Kapoor quips, "Bechu Bhai is a guy found in every mohalla (colony), every street and every village or city."
Muavza is an interesting satire focusing on how the expansion of Delhi and NCR into neighbouring villages has turned worthless lands of a few villagers into millions.
At the centre of the story are three Gujjar families of Bhasoya, Awaana and Bhati. In comes Bechu Bhai, a catalyst of the events to come, who makes the villagers aware about the government compensation (muavza).
Simpletons at heart, the 3 families receive huge amount of monies when suddenly their lands acquire 'priceless' status due to this expansion. Their absolutely hilarious way of spending money gives an insight about their characters.
Interestingly, the entire film is being shot in a very controversial village Bhatta Parsaul that was the centre of media attraction a few years ago.
Besides Kapoor, Muavza also stars Akhilendra Mishra, Pankaj Beri, Govind Pandey, Deepak Verma, Tejinder, Kamlesh Gill, Manoj Bakshi among many others.
