Rana Daggubati turns 'The Bindu' for Asmita Marwa

"Bahubali" star Rana Daggubati has often shown his physical strength and power on the big screen. And when the "gorgeous guy" sashayed down the ramp in one of the creations from Asmita Marwa's collection -- inspired by 'The Bindu' -- at the ongoing Gionee India Beach Fashion Week 2015 (GIBFW), he made sure to do justice to the "powerful symbol".

With floral neck pieces and ensembles by the designer, known for using organic dyes and natural fabrics in her garments, models walked the ramp on Day One of the fashion week on Thursday at the The Lalit Golf & Spa Resort Goa.

The collection, mostly in red, white and black, saw knee-length dresses with collar, dresses with low and high hem, saris, lehengas with loose blouse and more for women.

The male models were also dressed to kill. They made lungi (sarong-like ankle-length garment wrapped around the waist that is mostly worn by Indian men) look chic as they teamed the traditional wear with formal shirts! Some including actor Tarun Arora even wore shirts with loose bottoms that looked summer friendly for sure.

The star factor did not end with Tarun or his wife Anjala Zaveri, who looked graceful in a lehenga and a loose blouse with dupatta on her head.

Rana, donning shades and lime green kurta with black bottom and stole, got everyone cheering as he confidently walked the ramp.

"He is (Rana) a gorgeous guy. My collection is inspired by the Bindu. It's a very powerful symbol. It symbolises eternity. I've mostly used red, white and black. These are my favourite colours. There is purity in off-white, red is also a pure colour and black is powerful," Marwa told IANS.

Asked why there were no hints of 'bindu' on Rana's outfit?

The actor, who thinks doing fashion shows is "an extension of films", said with a smile: "I am the Bindu!"

Marwa was also all praise for her friends Anjala and Tarun.

"They stay in Goa and they are my friends so, I invited them," she said.

Asked about the script on her loose blouse, the Hyderabad based designer said: "It's a hot place so, I don't like to wear fitted clothes. For me, it's more about comfort and style. It's a Telugu script. I use it in my collections as I am proud of my roots."

The three-day fashion event will conclude on Saturday.
