Art transcends all boundaries - Fawad Khan

Cross border art exchange has always attracted a lot of criticism on either sides of the border. Actors, singers and other cultural artistes especially those from Pakistan have found themselves getting embroiled in unwanted controversies over trivial issues. Atif Aslam has often been ridiculed for his poor singing abilities by many Indian singers. Ali Zafar landed himself in a soup when an anti-Shahid Afridi dialogue from Total Siyapaa irked some hardliners across the border. Nevertheless, controversies apart, art has always triumphed. The latest Pakistani export, the very handsome Fawad Khan too believes that no actor can stay immune from controversies and the best remedy would be to ignore them. When asked about criticism faced by Pakistani stars back in their home town for acting in India, Fawad said, "Those Pakistanis who you are talking about are a small percentage. Whenever people move out of Pakistan, criticism happens. The best way to stay immune is by not paying attention to criticism. Art transcends all boundaries. Art is universal. As an actor, I would like to explore other regions and choose to ignore criticism." Fawad who is making his Bollywood debut with Khoobsurat also made it point to watch the original directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. "I watched the old film and feel it's a timeless classic of its own era. However, this movie is very different. My role is different from the one essayed by Rakesh Roshan. I don't think we cud have taken anything from that film." Fawad's presence in India is in the meanwhile generating a whole lot of excitement especially among the fairer sex. Sonam herself revealed that five aunties known to her wanted to take the handsome hunk from Pakistan out for dinner. Well, looks like Fawad has a lot more than acting to catch up on in India.
