Mardaani smaller than Singham Returns, says Rani Mukerji

Two cop based movies will be releasing this month, one after the other. While Independence Day will see the return of Ajay Devgn as Bajirao Singham in Singham Returns, a week later Rani will make her first appearance post marriage with Mardaani. With two similar genre movies releasing in quick succession, the question remained whether it would be a bit too much for audience to digest. Rani however doesn't see this as a problem. When asked whether the arrival of Singham Returns would impact her movie, Rani said, "Singham Returns is a big franchise and Ajay is a huge star. I have seen Singham and I loved it." Explaining how two films won't be competition to each other, Rani said," Ours is a very small film and it's a small effort for all women. 'Mardaani' should not be compared to 'Singham Returns', which is a huge film." Even though the film has received an A certificate, Rani expressed hope that the movie would be appreciated. Said Rani, "I hope everybody likes this film. Even though the film has got an A certificate, I feel it is a very relevant film." The movie has been directed by Pradeep Sarkar and will open in cinema halls across India on 22nd August.
