The Supreme Court dismissed the petition filed before it by All India Human Rights and Social Justice Front asking for a ban to be placed on PK for allegedly promoting nudity and vulgarity. In a landmark judgment, the apex court told the petitioner, “If you don’t like then don’t watch the film but don’t bring religious facets in it. These are matters of art and entertainment and let them remain so.”
The Apex court further observed that ‘any restrictions on the film would affect the constitutional right of the film makers. Coming down heavily on the petitioner, the Chief Justice of India told them, “Don’t be sensitive to such things. What will you hide in the age of Internet? Today’s youth is very smart.”
In the meanwhile, a case filed by lawyer Manoj Dixit in Kanpur court is yet to decide on. But as for now, Aamir and Raju can certainly heave a big sigh of relief.
