Ganpati Bappa Morya. It is that time of the year when the entire Maharashtra converges to welcome their favourite Elephant headed God in their houses. No other festival in Maharashtra can match the intensity and fervour of Ganesh Chaturthi. Not surprisingly, the festival has often found resonance in Bollywood through popular songs. We list 10 best Bollywood numbers dedicated to Lord Ganpati.
Ganpati Bappa Moriya (Pujarin)
One of the oldest Bollywood ode to Ganpati happened through this black and white movie Pujarin. Starring Vijay Dutt, Rehana Sultan, the song Hey Ganpati Bappa Moriya is sung like a bhajan with actors playing cymbals and other hand held musical instruments while worshipping a huge Ganesh idol in the foreground.
Deva Ho Deva (Hum Se Badkar Kaun)
Industry's iconic villain Gabbar Singh turned pious with this Ganpati special. The song Deva Ho Deva composed by composed by Ram Laxman and sung by legends Asha Bhosle and Mohammed Rafi went on to become a national rage and is frequently played at Ganesh mandals today.
Murti Ganesh Ki (Takkar)
Sanjeev Kumar and Jeetendra joined hands in this movie to expose fake godmen who deceive and cheat naive and innocent people. Kishore Kumar and Mahendra Kapoor lent their voice to this song composed by R. D Burman.
Ganpati Apne Gaon Chale (Agneepath)
This cult classic saw India's dancing superstar Mithun Chakraborthy grooving to their peppy tunes of Morya Re Bappa Morya Re while Amitabh Bachchan takes home a Ganesha idol signalling the start of the popular festival. Ganpati Apne Gaon Chale soon became a chartbuster.
Sindoor Lal Chadyo (Vaastav)
One of the best Ganpati aartis to emerge from Bollywood has to be Sindoor Lal Chadyo from Vaastav. Pictured on Sanjay Dutt, the song is performed by Shivaji Satam in a temple. Singer Ravinder Sathe lent his voice to this inspiration aarti.
Shree Ganeshaya Dhimahi (Viruddh)
Another beautiful aarti sung by Shankar Mahadevan. This soulful track is usually played at auspicious occasions in schools, colleges and other corporate houses.
Tera Hi Jalwa (Wanted)
When Salman Khan thought of paying obeisance to the elephant-headed God, he chose to do so in his own inimitable style. Tera Hi Jalwa is that unique dance number which will make even Gods shake a leg or two. Play it at events and you will see young boys pulling the collars of their shirts out mimicking the famous Salman dance.
Maurya Re (Don)
SRK finally made his Ganpati debut with this popular number in Don. The song was immensely liked and became a chartbuster soon after its release. SRK can be seen wearing a head band and dancing vigorously with background dancers.

Hrithik killed it with his looks, dance and charisma. Deva Shree Ganesh, composed by famous Marathi composer duo Ajay-Atul rocked the nation with its inspiration beats and fast paced lyrics.
Sadda dil vi tu ( ABCD)
ABCD couldn't have chosen a better climax. The song sounds more like a rock number with Hard Kaur infusing it with her infectious high decibel voice. The beauty of this song lies in watching the supremely choreographed dance forms well executed under the aegis of Prabhu Deva and Ganesh Acharya.
