Actor Deepak Chadha, who will be seen essaying the antagonist in Sony Entertainment Television’s upcoming show Humsafars, will get ruthlessly negative in Vinod Bachchan’s upcoming movie Jigariyaa.
The movie which has newcomers Harshvardhan Deo and Cherry Mardia also has K.K. Raina, Navni Parihar, Virendra Saxena, Vinita Malik essaying pivotal roles.
In Jigariyaa, Chadha will be seen essaying the uncle of the female lead. He will be a typical Dabangg character, who would never want the daughter of his house to fall in love with a ‘halwaai’s’ son.
Comparing his role to that of the evergreen flick Prem Rog, Chadha averred, “Our dabangg family is somewhat similar to the rich family seen in the movie Prem Rog. My character is similar to that of Kulbhushan Kharbanda’s in the movie. K.K. Raina who is married to my sister Navi Parihar plays a character similar to that of Shammi Kapoor in the movie. We typically do not want our family girls to mix with or get into a relationship with poor people. Our blood would boil if we see such a thing happening.”
On the movie, he said, “This is a true love story seen in Agra. It is a very touching love tale which has quite a lot of highpoints in the story line. I had a great experience working with Vinod Bachchan who has earlier produced films like Jilla Ghaziabad, Tanu Weds Manu. We have shot the movie in real locations at Mathura, Agra and Jaipur. Both the leads Harshvardhan and Cherry are very good actors and are nice human beings. They have a good future ahead of them.”
Deepak Chadha who was last seen on the big screen in R…Rajkumar is also shooting for the movie Daizy Villa. At the moment, he is also in talks for two big banner movies.
In Humsafars on Sony TV, he will again essay the main antagonist Rehman, an MLA by profession.
Jigariyaa is slated for a release this October.
