Television is famous for unusual things! But this is one problem that has reared its ugly head time and again- that of late or non payment! The latest to claim to be a victim of this problem is the star cast of Star One's Dil Kya Chahta Hai which went off air eight months ago. The weekly's cast that included Gaurav Chopra, Sameer Sharma, Parineeta, Kavita Kaushik and Vikram Acharya are set to file a complaint to CINTAA ( Cine and TV Artistes Association) against InHouse Productions which produced the show. Their complaint : that they have not been paid their dues despite regular demands for the same. At stake is pending payment for ten episodes. "After the show ended, I kept calling them for my money, and they paid me in bits and pieces," says Vikram Acharya, who played Akki on the show. "They told me to wait and one fine day they told me that they were out of money and I'll have to wait. The channel too has paid them, then why should we wait?" Chopra hopes that the meeting that they will have with the association will result in a notice to the production house and help them get the money they are allegedly owed. He laments, "They have to give me a huge amount, nearly Rs 1.5 lakhs to Rs 2 lakhs. They used to ask me to adjust on each and every day of our shoot, and I used to literally die doing that for them, and this is what I get in return!" Kavita Kaushik adds that it's not only the actors, but there are some technical crew who have also not been paid. "And we will definitely fight for it!" she asserts. Sharma adds that, "We really don't know who to go to for redressal in the production house as we don't know who the management is today!" Parineeta, who played Ira on the show and joined the cast when the show was nearing its end, says that she has got a major part of her money. "Only a little bit is left, but I will be going to support them," she says. When contacted, former In House Production CEO, Sailesh Dave who was with the production house while the show was on air says that he has no idea about the issue.
