Behzaad Khan gears up for his first historical character in Zee &'s Razia Sultan

Actor Behzaad Khan, last seen playing the rough and tough cop ACP Sameer Rathore in Star Plus’ Arjun is busy preparing for his first historical character, is what we hear. The actor was on a break from acting ever since he got married to artist Rasha Khan, in October 2013. Now, he has bagged his first project after getting into a wed-lock. He has been roped in by Swastik Productions for an important role in their new project, Razia Sultan to be aired on the to-be-launched channel Zee & (and). A reliable source tells us, “Behzaad will be playing the main antagonist on the show. His character will be that of a king who would have been deprived of his throne. He will stage a fight back to get to his throne.” We hear that the shoot for Razia Sultan will begin from the month of December. And Behzaad, who has already signed on the dotted lines, has started preparing for this mighty historical character. When contacted, Behzaad told us, “Yes, I have bagged a very interesting role, a new and challenging avatar after playing a cop in Arjun. This is all I can say at the moment. However, I cannot name the show.” As per media reports, actor Rohit Purohit will be playing the lead role of Altunia, the slave who would go on to marry Razia Sultan. We dropped a text message to Producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary, but did not receive any reply. We also contacted the channel spokesperson before we filed the story, but did not get any confirmation of sorts. Watch this space for more updates.
