Aamir Khan has done it again. The man with the Midas touch has proved that there is no successful box-office superstar in Bollywood after PK crossed the 300 crore mark on Sunday.
With this, PK achieves the unique distinction of being the highest earning movie in India. For Aamir, it's a personal record of sorts because he is the one who started the 100 and 200 crore club in Bollywood with Ghajini and 3 Idiots. And now with 300 crore, Aamir has touched a new milestone in his career.
Released on 19th December 2014, PK has collected 300 crores in a record span of 17 days which is again a new high.
Plagued by multiple controversies with Hindu radicals objecting to imagery of Shiva being chased by Aamir's character in the movie, PK is by far the most controversial film of Aamir and Raju. Despite the show being stalled at quite a few theaters by protestors, the movie has done roaring business. It continues to run strong even in the New Year with collections being in crore. Looks like controversies have worked in favour of PK and the makers are definitely having the last laugh.
The movie's inflated ticket rates also has evidently helped it in reaching the 300 crore mark. And with one of India's largest state, Uttar Pradesh already declaring it tax-free, PK is all set to scale greater heights.
