Chunky Pandey's AIM production is producing a new series of yesteryear's hit countdown show, Superhit Muqabla, the first episode of which aired on 5 March.
The show which airs every Sunday from 10 -11 pm, has a whole new format as compared to the original. It's divided into many segments and will be more of a "music appreciation show" than a countdown show.
"We are looking at creating a show that will show the varied aspects of the creative process behind a song. We also have different segments which are very interesting," says Chunky's co producer and partner, Abhijit Chowdhury.
The show is not a mere countdown show. It will also be the first ever talent hunt show that will search for a music composer, writer and singer, all at the same time.
"We will be looking for fresh talent and anyone can participate through SMS and this segment will be called The Birth of a Song, since the output created by the three put together will be released as an album'," says Chowdhury.
As was the case with the original show, this time round too, the anchors will be on a weekly basis. But Chunky Pandey, Baba Sehgal and Sajid Khan will form the core hosting team. Others who have been approached are singer siblings Shaan and Sagarika.
The panel of judges will comprise renowned artistes from the fileld of music like, Dev Kohli and Sameer, says Chowdhury.
The producers seem confident tabout the show, but this is uncharted territory, so only time will tell how well the innovations work.
