Shakuntalam Productions’ new show on Zee TV, Hello Pratibha looks promising and has a certain appeal for television lovers. The plot will depict the life of a woman who will embark on a journey to ‘find her real calling’ after leading a simple and uneventful married life for almost a decade.
Speaking about the show, the creative head and co-founder of the production house, Neelima Bajpai said, “We have been in talks with the channel (Zee TV) for quite some time to present this beautiful and simple story of Pratibha.”
When we asked her what caused the sudden closure of their other show on the channel, Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, she said, “You should ask the channel. Somewhere we did know that the audiences had lost the connect. The channel had been patient with the show, but the ending did come all of a sudden and was disappointing for sure.”
Taking us further on the look and feel of the new show, Neelima said, “It is based in Ranchi where a woman, who has been married for around 15 years, doesn’t find the love and respect she deserves from the family she is ready to die for. It is a positive show, which will not showcase the lead as a victim but as a fighter who would work towards making an identity for her.”
She added further, “Our team went on an extensive research to find that every woman, whether in small town or city, only craves for her husband’s love. They might have a cruel life and troubles with in-laws or career, but if they have the approval of their husbands in their decisions, they are happy.”
Finally, we asked her if the ‘simple looking’ show would be able to handle competition from popular shows at the same time slot on rival channels, like Sasural Simar Ka (Colors) and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein (Star Plus)? “To be honest, the look and feel is a conscious thought as that’s what that narrative demands. And as for the competition, I think Hello Pratibha would break the clutter of dramatic shows that are currently on air. And people above 25, especially the married ones, will be able to connect with our show really well.”
Cheers to that!
