The Poll Khol anchor and host of countless chat shows is now crossing borders with a mega musical show for Pakistani channel Geo TV, debuting this month. The show Dhoom Macha De Dhoom is produced by Chitresh Srivastava and is created on the lines of Star Plus' Kismey Kitna Hai Dam by Mumbai based Eyeline Productions and Dubai based Rimjhim Bhagchandi. It will have four girls and four boys in the 16 to 24 age group competing for the honours each time.
There will be performances on item songs, both Bollywood and Pak films, standard Suman wit and a plethora of visual rounds. Well known Pakistani model Iram Bukhari will co-host the show with Suman, who himself will try his vocal chords out in a couple of rounds on the show, a la Annu Kapoor in Zee's Antakshari. Shekhar, sources say, has brushed up a lot on Pakistani and Indian music in preparation for the show. Shekhar, say the producers, is as big a draw as Annu Kapoor in Pakistan, particularly after he appeared in a hit appearance with Pak comedy star Omar Sharif at the Zee Cine awards last year.
26 episodes have already been canned. The participant pool is drawn from NRI rich Dubai, and a fair percentage of those taking part are also those of Pak origin. The technical team, including the director duo, cameraman, online editor, choreographer and musicians have been taken from Mumbai to Dubai, while the musicians and hostess were flown in from Pakistan.
An Indian schedule too is on the cards for Dhoom Macha De Dhoom, say the producers, who made the hugely popular Gayegi Duniya Geet Mere with Annu Kapoor three years ago.
