Fame and controversies galore at Gurukul!

Controversies they say always add to the popularity of a show. Fame Gurukul has seen major tiffs not only between the participants, but also amongst faculty members and judges. But of late, spicing up the proceedings is a war of words between the lesser known faculty members and their well known headmistress, Ila Arun.
Controversies they say always add to the popularity of a show. Fame Gurukul has seen major tiffs not only between the participants, but also amongst faculty members and judges. But of late, spicing up the proceedings is a war of words between the lesser known faculty members and their well known headmistress, Ila Arun. Prashant Samadhar and Padma Wadkar have been categorical in saying that Arun was being partial towards Qazi, thereby aiding the elimination of Arijit, who according to them was a better singer. Kavita Shyam met up with the faculty members after the controversy and this is what they had to say... Padma Wadkar- My argument was that all my students are getting better with time and that Qazi is definitely getting better and he is getting votes from the audience by hook or by crook which has been happening till now. But we knew that Arijit would not be able to get the votes he deserved after the Shamit episode. The only possible way he could have come back was through the faculty. The criteria has always been a good voice and an over all good performer. Qazi can never be compared to Sonu Nigam no matter how much he improves. He's getting motivated in many ways than one. But a trained and versatile singer like Arijit had everything going for him until that one decision of saving Qazi from the danger zone. Prashant Samadhar- The students of Fame Gurukul are like my children. I will train all of them because that's my job and do so without any bias. From commoners, they are becoming heroes. What they are learning here is something that will remain with them all their lives beyond this competition. We had major arguments with Ilaji but that was because we had major difference of opinion regarding Qazi and Arijit. Everyone knows who is a better singer and we don't need to say it again and again. We would like to support the one who has been performing consistently well. We won't give 'prohtsahan' (encouragement) just for the sake of it but if I am wanted for 12 hours in a day to train the young hopefuls, I am game for it. The word prohtsahan would not just mean to encourage these students but also to make them worth their salt. On the other hand amongst the remaining contestants, Rex, Qazi, Ruprekha and Arpita, Rex seems to be the clear winner as everyone in Fame Gurukul wants him as one of the jodi. While Qazi has good chances of winning by the virtue of the votes, Ruprekha seems to be having an extremely good chemistry with Rex. And as we leave the Fame Gurukul sets, we ask a sad and weeping Sandeep (who is out of the show), about his experience in the Gurukul and his future plans."It was an experience of a lifetime and I will miss them all, from the crew members to the make-up artist to all my friends here who have been so kind and supportive throughout. I plan to make it big still as a playback singer," says Sandeep confidently. All we can say is may the best and deserving fame jodi win..
