Sahil Mehta is simply passionate about acting, but not all know that he was once upon a time looking at becoming a cricketer.
Well, that is past, and the only goal that Sahil maintains now is to see the day when he will be called by his name, rather than his character’s name.
Says Sahil, “Yes, I want my work to speak. The day I will be called by the name of Sahil, rather than Yuvraj, I will be happy. Having said this, these are still early days for me as I need to prove a lot.”
Sahil who starred in the Bollywood movie Love Express before playing the lead of Suhani Si Ek Ladki on Star Plus, recollects the initial lukewarm response that he got for his acting prowess. “There were few stories that were written where I had got very bad reviews. This was when Suhani Si Ek Ladki started. But in this gap of one and half years, I have got a lot more comfortable as an actor. My work is being appreciated, and I am happy about it.”
Sahil who lost his father when he was just eight years old, and saw the demise of his mother just before he could take up television, is blessed to have friends who act as his guiding force, and help him take the tough decisions of life. “Thankfully, I don’t have many friends from the industry. My guiding forces happen to be the writer couple, Divy Sharma and Aparajita Sharma. They help me whenever I need any advice. Also, Garima Dimri, our creative head is like family. And then I have the love of my life, Eesha Danait. My best of buddies happen to be my school mates from my Delhi school, and I can look up to them for everything.”
Last but not the least, Sahil says he is very thankful to his Producer Suzana Ghai for giving him the chance to make a mark as an actor. “I have already told her, that I have not reached the phase yet in my career, where I can prepare my vote of thanks. But all that I am today, is because of Suzana.”
Sahil, we wish you great luck for your future!!
